This app (“Long Backgammon” / «Длинные нарды») is designed to collect as little data as possible. There are no ads and no third-party analytics or tracking.
On your device (never leaves the phone): your settings, statistics, chosen skins and avatar are stored locally on the device.
For online play (sent to our game server):
Custom avatar photo: if you pick a photo for your avatar, it is resized on your device and relayed to your opponent through the server only for the duration of the match. It is NOT stored on the server.
Purchases: optional support/skins are sold through Google Play or the Apple App Store. Payment is handled entirely by them — the app never sees your card or payment details.
The game can also be played in a web browser at long-nardy-server.fly.dev/play/. It works like the app: settings and statistics stay in your browser's storage. To count how many people play, the browser version sends our server an anonymous usage counter: a random identifier created in your browser (not linked to your name, email or account) together with “game opened” and “game started” (vs computer / two players / online). The server keeps these identifiers and daily counts only to count unique players and games; there are no cookies, ads or third-party analytics, and all game files are served from our own server. Purchases are not available in the browser — they are made in the Android app.
You can ask to be notified when someone is looking for an opponent: once — “Notify me if someone comes within an hour” on the search screen — or every time — “or always notify me” there, or Settings → Online → “Notify me when someone is looking for an opponent”. The app then asks Android for permission to show notifications and sends our game server:
We use this only to send the notification “Someone is looking for an opponent — play?”. Until you ask for notifications, the app does not register with Firebase Cloud Messaging. Google processes the token to deliver the messages under its Firebase privacy terms; Firebase analytics is not used.
No name, email, phone number, contacts, precise location, photo library, advertising ID, or browsing history. No third-party trackers or ad networks. We do not sell or share your data.
The random identifier, nickname and rating are kept on the game server to run matchmaking and ratings. To have this data removed, contact long.nardy.games@gmail.com — since the identifier is random and not tied to your identity, deletion simply removes that entry. Local data is deleted when you uninstall the app or reset it in Settings. A one-time request is deleted once the notification is sent, when you go online in the app yourself, when you tap “Stop waiting”, or about an hour after you asked; the “always” subscription is deleted when you turn it off. Both are also deleted automatically once Google reports the token is no longer valid (for example, after you uninstall the app).
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date will change accordingly.
